Natuna Basin

Offshore East Indonesia – Natuna Basin Phase 1

Austin Exploration acquired marine gravity and magnetic data along approximately 3800 kilometers in the Natuna Basin with a 2-D seismic survey acquired by PGS Nopec in late September 1995.

The gravity data were acquired using a SEASYS LaCoste & Romberg Air/Sea Gravity Meter with digital acquisition and control system.

The magnetic data were acquired using a Geometric G-801 Marine Magnetometer.

The average mistie at intersections for the gravity and magnetics were 0.18 milligals and 1.5 Nt respectively.

Deliverables:

  • – Bathymetry Map
  • – Free-Air Gravity Map
  • – Bouguer Gravity Map
  • – Total Magnetic Intensity Map
  • – Gravity and Magnetic Profiles
  • – Data on CD Rom

Sulawesi

Southeast Coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia

Austin Exploration recorded approximately 6400km of gravity and magnetic data southeast of Sulawesi, Indonesia on the M/V DIGICON BEATA along with Digicon’s Spec Seismic Survey.

SYLEDIS and ARGO were the positioning systems.

The gravity data were recorded with a LaCoste & Romberg Air/Sea Gravity Meter using an analog recorder and digitally with a computer.

The magnetic data were recorded in analog form and digitally on a computer.

The gravity and magnetics suggest a large basin within the survey with several prospects for hydrocarbon accumulation.

Deliverables:

  • – Bathymetric Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Free-Air Gravity Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Bouguer Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Residual Gravity Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Total Magnetic Intensity Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Conversion to the Magnetic Pole Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Second Vertical Derivative Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Magnetic Basement Structure Map at a scale of 1:250,000
  • – Written Report

Timor Sea

Offshore Southern Indonesia – Timor Sea

Austin Exploration acquired gravity and magnetic data along 3258 km in the Timor Sea with a 2D seismic survey acquired by Digicon Geophysical Corp. in February and March 1996.

These data were acquired using a SEASYS LaCoste & Romberg Air/Sea Gravity Meter with digital acquisition and control system. The magnetic data were acquired using a Geometrics G-801 Marine Magnetometer.

The average misties at intersections for the gravity and magnetic were 0.12 mGal and 2.8 nT.

Deliverables:

  • – Bathymetry Map
  • – Free-Air Gravity Map
  • – Bouguer Gravity Map
  • – Total Magnetic Intensity Map
  • – Gravity and Magnetic Profiles
  • – Data on CD

Arafura Sea

Arafura Sea – Irian Jaya (Arafura -99 Regional Survey)

Austin Exploration, Inc. in conjunction with Veritas DGC is just finishing the acquisition of approximately 13,340 km of gravity and magnetic data covering the Arafura Shelf, Southern offshore Irian Jaya, East Indonesia

This project is being undertaken in co-operation with MIGAS.

The region is now the focus of considerable interest from the Petroleum industry and MIGAS have recently released three blocks (Vlakke, Aika and Amborip) in the area for open PSC tender.

These gravity and magnetic data will be part of the largest 2D speculative seismic survey collected to date in Indonesia and will tie to key exploration wells in the area.
